Governor Brown signed into law Assembly Bills X1 26 and X1 27 regarding the dissolution and continuance of redevelopment, respectively. The California Supreme Court upheld AB X1 26 and found AB X1 27 to be unconstitutional. Therefore, as of February 1, 2012, all redevelopment agencies in California are dissolved. Redevelopment was the funding source for blight eradication and economic development. Since Redevelopment has been eliminated, we are no longer able to provide financial assistance for commercial façade improvement projects.
